There’s been so much pain, frustration, or disappointment that you’ve completely given up on enjoying sex.

And so you’re totally fine without it. In fact, you would be content just cuddling for the rest of your life. Perhaps you feel kind of ripped off and shortchanged by God because you faithfully followed all the rules of purity culture. Maybe it feels like your sexual desire has gone MIA. Perhaps you have past sexual traumas that are ambushing your sex life. And so, your strategy is to disconnect when you are intimate with your partner. Maybe your body is there, but your mind isn’t. And maybe you’re coping by settling and just telling yourself “This is just how it is” and going into autopilot.
